                                                           ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT                                              

                                                                                                      Electrical Installation work is one of the vibrant and highly patronised programmes the Institute can boast of. Currently the World Bank has expressed interest to use the Department for the training of some past graduate from the school specifically, on oil and petroleum skills to severe as work force for oil and petroleum industry within the region (i.e. Western) and Ghana as a whole.
The Department offer basic skill training on both domestic and Electronic systems and possibly PLC systems which are to be taken off soon and other related trades. The method of training is both theoretical and practical.

 

AIM:

The ultimate aim of the Department is to offer skill training to equip trainees with Electrical Installation work/Engineering and  knowledge that are relevant to the manpower needs of the day.

ACTIVITIES

Major activities, the Department undertake are as follows: 
Domestic wiring systems
Industrial Installation work
Motor control systems
Basic Electronic system
Instrumentation
Bench fitting
Battrey charging
Re-winding of motors
Electrical Installation project work
Basic refrigeration and Air conditioner etc.

COURSE DURATION

The following are programmes the Department do embark on:
Electrical Installation work-Intermediate
Electrical Installation work-Advanced
Electrical Engineering Technicians Part I & II.

The intermediate course is made up of morning and afternoon shift. The duration for intermediate programme spans between three (3) years and four (4) years for morning and afternoon shift respectively.  The Advanced/Technician programmes is only a year(i.e 1 year)
